First there was finals, then a holiday when we were broke and lazy. Now here it is, the middle of January, and Luke and I haven't done any real cooking for about a month. We're getting back into it, though.
I found a really good cook book at the thrift store for a dollar-- there are so many recipes I want to try, and they're all quick-- and the first we tried from it was a mustard maple chicken that we served for my mom and sisters when they came for a visit. It was a hit, and as easy as sauteing chopped onions, adding brown mustard and maple syrup to make a glaze, and putting it under the broiler. Try it. It's good. It'd be good on vegetables and any kind of meat.
Something else we tried was some apple rings that I got at a new blog I found, Fab Frugal Food. They were indeed "fab." Apples battered and fried like onion rings, but then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and drizzled with a creamy cinnamony syrup. Delicious.
Mmmmmm those apples look so tasty! And the chicken business sounds good too. Mmmm. You always make me drool.
ReplyDeletePS I must say you're looking extraordinarily beautiful. :)
I like your hair how it is right now.
ReplyDeleteWell you'll be disappointed, then, because I just cut it short, short, short again. But I'm growing it out. It's been a year of short hair, and I"m ready for it to be long again (in two years).
